About Me
To seek God in all of life is a holy struggle, but like Jacob's all-night wrestling (Genesis 32) leads to wholeness, hope, and peace. Mine has been a life of struggle and of seeking in good times and in tragedy. The metaphor of "being in the wilderness" or living in "liminal space" speaks deeply to me as I find myself closest to the Divine when I realize I am not in control. I value journeying with those willing to enter that place of surrender and vulnerability to discover what my mentor Tilden Edwards described as "Living in the Presence."
I have been an ordained minister for over 40 years and engaged in the ministry of spiritual direction for over 5. I feel a particular calling to clergy, but have worked with folks of all backgrounds including, SBNR's, atheists, as well as those espousing religious persuasions other than Christian. I also have experience with folks exploring issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. I completed my spiritual guidance training at the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation in Washington, D.C.
A father of three and grandfather of 2, I have been married to Randy Spicocchi for over 10 years.
